and prevention

At Mutua Universal, technological innovation is synonymous with care applied to people’s health and well-being. Our support for this has allowed the entity to offer an agile, efficient and flexible response at all times and in any place to the different needs of its associated companies and protected and affiliated workers, both in the improvement of the services, as well as in the access to the information, processing and advice.

New technologies applied to health

CONTINUING EVOLUTION OF TELEMEDICINE

The entity constantly incorporates technological solutions with the aim of evolving its advanced telemedicine system implemented in all healthcare centres.

In this way, Mutua Universal guarantees access to specialised medicine for all of its protected and affiliated individuals, regardless of location, and contributes to improving the efficiency, quality and safety of processes.

VIRTUAL REALITY APPLIED TO MENTAL HEALTH

Through the application of virtual reality in psychological evaluation and treatment, Mutua Universal is capable of treating post-traumatic stress disorders caused by work accidents that can interfere with the daily work and quality of life of working people.

TECHNIQUES APPLIED TO REHABILITATION
Telerehabilitation

During the year 2022 Mutua Universal has started a telerehabilitation pilot study for the treatment of shoulder, cervical, lumbar and ankle pathologies.

Therapeutic diathermy

Rehabilitation technique that uses magnetic or electric fields that contribute to the relaxation of the muscles and alleviate the sensation of pain.

Alter G Antigravity Treadmill

Medical tool that allows full control of body weight supported by the legs through the use of air in a controlled pressure chamber that gently lifts patients.

In injuries with compromised stability and balance, this tool offers the patient a high sense of security, which affects the reduction of the risk of relapse.

TECHNIQUES APPLIED TO BIOMECHANICS
Biomechanics laboratory

Service for functional assessment in the evaluation of incapacity for work in musculoskeletal pain processes.

It allows the monitoring of the functional evolution of the damaged region during the control of the rehabilitation process. As well as this, it is an objective test to reliably determine either a stagnation or functional recovery of the damaged region.

Lynx project

Tool for the objective measurement of mobility and strength in joints that allows the healthcare group greater agility in diagnosis and provides a higher quality of care to those protected by Mutua Universal.

MONITORING AND ASSESSMENT OF THE PATIENT
Thermography

Use of thermography in occupational trauma processes. This technique allows, through thermal cameras, the temperature of damaged body areas to be captured. This helps in the diagnosis and treatment and monitoring of injuries or pathologies.

Sonography

Implementation of the use of ultrasound in healthcare centres, a tool that allows different types of injuries such as inflammations, ruptures and injuries to be identified.

Within the work environment, sonography is effective for its use in shoulder pathology; the evaluation of the elbow joint and associated musculature; the study of the wrist and its main pathologies; and the evaluation of the knee, ankle and foot.
